Faxly is operated by Megawit, Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Faxly cloud fax platform.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you:

• Create an account (name, email address, password)
• Send or receive a fax (fax numbers, document contents, metadata)
• Contact us via the contact form (name, email, message)
• Subscribe to a paid plan (billing information processed by Stripe)

We also collect usage data automatically, including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Faxly service
• Transmit faxes on your behalf via our provider network
• Send transactional emails (email verification, password reset, fax delivery notifications)
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Document Storage

PDF documents uploaded for fax transmission are stored on our servers temporarily to complete the transmission. Documents are stored in your account history for your reference. You can delete your fax history at any time from your dashboard. We do not share your documents with third parties except as necessary to complete the fax transmission (e.g., forwarding to a fax provider).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With fax providers (Sinch, etc.) to route and deliver your faxes
• With Stripe, our payment processor, to handle subscription billing
• With Mailjet, our email provider, to send transactional emails
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights

5. Cookies

We use localStorage (not cookies) to store your authentication token locally on your device. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Fax documents are retained until you delete them or close your account. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at admin@faxly.app.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We regularly review our security practices, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@faxly.app.

9. Children's Privacy

Faxly is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
